Since first residing in the Darling Downs town of Pittsworth in November 2013, Charlie and Michelle of MaccaBuilt have quickly built up a reputation of friendly customer service, quality construction and impeccable attention to detail.
With 18 years of building experience prior to 2013, in the Central Highlands town of Emerald, Charlie has extensive experience in building new homes including organising and efficiently operating a team of carpenters and various sub-contractors. It was during these many years of construction as a sub-contractor to the very reputable and award-winning, building company ‘Corbett Homes’, that Charlie’s passion grew and his experience in building and renovating residential homes became extensive.
It was engrained into Charlie from a young age that using quality materials and performing quality workmanship was the way to achieve success. This stands by him still today and is evident in his consistently high-quality workmanship.
This is why Charlie prides himself in using Cypress pine framing timber as it stands alone when it comes to durability and its natural termite resistant qualities. Cypress is rarely used now as it is not the easiest framing timber to work with. However, the benefits of its durability, it’s naturally resistant termite qualities and longevity, far out ways the small margin of extra cost it incurs in the building process.
Having built their own homes, Charlie and Michelle are well aware of the costs that can quickly blow out the budget when building. Therefore, they strive to offer the most economical service whilst maintaining quality materials and workmanship. They also ensure their customers are made well aware of all costs right from the start to avoid financial stress throughout the job. While Charlie’s quote may not be the cheapest, it will ensure quality workmanship with an honest and accurate indication of all costs involved with the building process.
Charlie enjoys all aspects of the building process. This includes interacting personally with his customers, being the builder on-site and being involved with the actual construction of every job. This is why he endeavours to keep his business as a small family business. He has recently been joined by his son Campbell who is also a building enthusiast and who is keen to learn and perform quality work.

We simply LOVE our new extension that MaccaBuilt have completed. It has really made our house into a home by opening it all up into a gorgeous light and airy, yet practical space. MaccaBuilt have done such an amazing job at blending the old home in with the new extension and achieving a very aesthetically pleasing outcome. We only wish that we had done it sooner. We thoroughly recommend MaccaBuilt. They are reliable, efficient, friendly and produce very high quality work. Charlie and his son Campbell have recently finished a full renovation of our kitchen, living, dining area and also a timber deck. This involved shifting all of the existing kitchen along with altering window sizes, replacing windows, re-sheeting, patching existing sheeting, moving walls, painting and more. In the beginning we spoke to them about various ideas and were glad of their expertise in advising us. They responded very helpfully and suggested many great ideas which resulted in what now is a very useful and well designed area. Right from the start, Charlie, Michelle and Campbell have been amazing. They truly are wonderful people and it shows in their work. They took our vision for our dream home and guided us through the entire process, at times offering advice and options at how we might make better use of space or practical improvements.
